I am not sure that you had read about my dal, Chance at BCC.......he was +- osteosarcoma.....and xrays were sent to a specialist.... Well, the specialist called today and confirmed osteo or chondrosarcoma....not sure which, but, really what makes the difference. He suggested chemo...which I can't and will not do. First, I can't afford it, second, he would need 4 months of treatment to double the 4 months this doctor is predicting. I can't do that to him....just can't. He will be 12 in July........would you amputate? In all honesty, do you see the reason? I am so incredibly fearful that I will amputate, which I personally have no problem doing, some feel funny about it, I do not......but do you think it is sort of closing the barn door after the horse is gone? I am so affraid that if I amputate, it takes him 6-8 weeks to heal, what if he only has that 4 months? And I have wasted 2? I don't want to put him through something that is just going to cause him more pain....... He is ok now. Slowing down a little, but he is 12. (and understand, when I say slowing down, I mean that he is not on top of my head standing, jumping......he is stilll a nut....he is a dalmatian......it is his God given right to be an idiot!!!) If he were your dog, barring the chemo thing, what would you do?
