Since Mike (my fiance)'s brother moved out last July Mini's been EXTRA clingy. MUST be touching us at all times. Very in our face (she's slowly breaking that)... now that her daily walks in the park come across more dogs, she bounces around them so excited. Mike's brother had 2 dogs. She loved them. LOVED them. Would clean them, push her face to them to be cleaned, followed them EVERYWHERE.
She attempts to play with the cats more lately. We have tons of toys for her (she was abused for the first almost 4 years of her life and doesn't know how to play with them.. but would copy Dingo and AJ when they lived here)
she's also become much more destructive when we're not home. Getting into garbage, pooping on the couch. She never did that. She cries and shakes.. if we even walk to the car and come back in she acts as tho we were gone forever.
So we think we're going to get another dog. Because of her clingy-ness and recent destructiveness and constant hard demands for attention, we thought that would be a very bad idea. More and more we are thinking another dog might lesson the work because she'd have a friend and wouldn't be lonely. So we might start shelter shopping.
I wish wish I knew what kind of dog that is, noofies.. the puppy I posted. I do wanta pom so but not sure if that's a chow! So hard to tell... so do I adopt her or wait and look for what I know to be a pom... I just don't know.
Also noofies maybe you can tell me. We have tried everything in the books to make her stop jumping on us and in our face while we're sitting on the couch. She bounces back up like a yoyo immediately. WE've tried everything! Any suggestions on what you know to work? She is getting a tad bit better but stlil.. when company comes over she has to be quarenteened because she is on top of people and her claws can hurt. I also am concerned for when we have children.. I"d like to get her trained asap on this. Tried pos reinforcement, push down and firm no, covering couch so she can't get on (she doesn't give up. And doesn't stop. She's a mule), haven't tried a squirt bottle yet.. but I know it wouldn't work. she has a chair of her very own that was once her sleep spot of choice. Now it's us:(
