Roundup says its non-toxic for pets. I have a hard time believing that, and tried to weed through a lengthy forum on that yesterday. It ended up being a pissing contest between two members. One sited articles that said it was safe, the other had links to sites that said it wasn't....... sheesh! I have a long driveway that has cracks between a fence and my driveway, and also cracks in the driveway, and every year I try to keep up with pulling or cutting back the weeds, plants, bamboo, etc. that wants to grow there. I'm getting too old to do all the stooping, kneeling, cutting, pulling etc. It's very time consuming and has to be done every 2-3 weeks or it gets totally out of hand. My neighbors have begged me to use Roundup or something similar as it presents an eyesore to people driving by. I asked the Arborist, that pruned my very large tree, if he had any suggestions. He recommended the old black plastic tarp trick of killing by smoothering. However, he must have forgotten that my problem is not like in a lawn area. It's just a narrow strip along the edges where the weeds pop through, and then grow out and end up making the driveway too narrow for my car to get through without scratching it up. I have two feral cats that live outdoors, but that I feed twice a day and they like to lay in the cool shaded area of the fence during times of the day, and sort of hide in the weeds so people can't see them. Any suggestions? I'm going to attempt to put the picture here:
